Amazon (Amazon.com) is the biggest online platform that started as a bookseller on the initial level but it expanded to sell almost each and every good including the online food delivery service as well (recently launched in Amazon.in). Such market places with huge businesses when get down even for a couple of minutes, it makes a huge difference. It was very rare to get this kind of issue but on the 29th of May, 2020, Amazon in the US market was down for about 15 minutes, Amazon claims that it is still vague that how widespread the issue was.
77% of the buyers experienced some issues for a while during shopping after 3 p.m and many of the people claimed the login issues but it was sorted in less than an hour but the reason behind the shot-term outrage was not described by Amazon. As a huge market, a few seconds matters a lot and Amazon estimated the revenue per minute was over $443,000. So, it lost millions of dollars in just fifteen minutes.
The only thing that made people happy, while the site was down, was the cute dogs shown on the error pages, people got amused with such adorable creatures.
